Approach to design and product design

Designing is a phase in which the product should be devised, its functionality ensured, the parts and assemblies , the materials to be used, the order of assembly, templates, economy in the utilization of the material, preparation of the necessary workshop documentation, test, number of zero series and so on.

  • Product design

The design should give a modern look that will be in tune with the spacious architecture and eye-catching. The attractiveness of a product on the market depends on its design.

Defining positions and assemblies

Defining positions (elements from which the product consists ) is a very important strategy when devising a whole of a product. In essence, the fewer assemblies have one full product, and the fewer the positions they enter into, the smaller the number of operations and the less time it takes to make the product. This reduces the number of working hours , which means less production costs. In the end, it affects the ultimate price of the product and therefore the competitiveness on the market.

Templates

It is intended to be used in a series of positions, assemblies or products. Instead of being measured every time again, with the help of the boundaries, the places of the openings are defined, the mutual distances between positions and assemblies. This accelerates the assembly , or the formation of the position on a machine. The templates can be fixed to a machine, stand-alone or hand-held, and when they are positioned in one position, determines the position of another in relation to it.

Specific software

Creation of this kind of software  should be applied when designing products that are identical but different types and performances. It eliminates the need of repetition on the same calculations for each type of product. My choice is the Delphi programming platform. The available mathematical tool can cover even the most complex design calculations. And because it is a base-oriented platform , information  can be stored in the database and processed with each new calculation or type of calculation.

Creating an application is laborious work, but it is created once and is continuously used.

I have created such applications for constructions, that is, in the domain of metal constructions.
